About the role...

The challenge of joining an established and growing team operating at the forefront of a growing market who still operate like a small entrepreneurial business is exactly the kind of thing you've been looking for. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned information security professional to join a highly skilled team producing and running world class banking software for a UK based fintech company in our London office. The role includes ownership of security across the group and has a wide remit from managing procedure to working with technical staff to implement best security practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Centralising Security Ownership - Working across different teams to implement policies and procedures to ensure security is at the heart of every product we build.
  • Policy management - Creating innovative policies to make sure we take security to the highest level.
  • Third part management - Managing various security third parties and the associated budgets.
  • PCI compliance - Owning the security elements of the PCI compliance piece.
  • Security Breach Management - Ensuring that in the unlikely event that a breach occurs that the correct procedure is followed to reduce risk.
  • Security Awareness - Planning, creating and carrying out security awareness training across the groups staff.
  • Product Security - Assisting in the development process and product planning to ensure security is at the core of everything we do.

A bit about you...

You understand the difference between a security policy which is there just to tick a box in an audit and great policy which forms an integral part of the daily workings of the business. You have a passion for finding creative solutions to security problems to enable the creation of fantastic products that are secure as we can make them.

Key skills and experience:

  • You are educated to degree level or equivalent in computer science/electrical/electronic/Information Systems or equivalent.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in information security or related discipline.
  • You have strong technical knowledge and experience in networking principals (including standard port usage), firewall management, intrusion detection systems, network packet inspection tools, anti-virus management.
  • You have knowledge of a broad range of hacking techniques (SQL injection, Cross site scripting, fishing, DDOS and more).
  • You describe yourself as reliable, organised & diligent with a good eye for detail and strong systems skills.
  • You are flexible, adaptable and able to manage several tasks at once.
  • You have demonstrable experience operating in a fast-paced environment.

Extra Awesome:

  • You have completed some Information Security Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA.
  • You have security experience in the financial services industry.
  • You have managed relationships with third party security consultants.
